DJ Labelle returns to South Africa

Labelle - Ensemble Cover Album Labelle 2 resized

Reunionese DJ Labelle in South Africa
30 September from 5pm, Bannister Hotel, Braamfontein, Joburg, with WeHeartBeat
1 October at 5pm, French Day, Durban University of Technology

Labelle’s electronic maloya, Reunionese traditional music, is first of all an experiment: a kind of “imaginary accelerator”. Either sung or recited, in the tradition of Reunionese fonnkèrs, this rhythmic, electro and experimental music creates unique atmospheres. Labelle’s universe unites maloya and electronics, with some Indian and African touches. On stage, Labelle lives his music and invites the public to dance, and even to trance.
