"L'Instant Donné", French contemporary chamber music to hear in Johannesburg

ololo

"L'Instant donné", one of the most original French music instrumental ensemble, will give an exceptional concert Saturday 8th of September in Johannesburg as part of the France-South Africa Seasons 2012 & 2013. Formed ten years ago, "L’Instant Donné" ("The Given Moment") is an instrumental ensemble devoted to high quality performances of contemporary chamber music.

The ensemble has achieved a level of excellence in performance by working in special sessions directly with the composers and creating a genuine bond between the musicians, playing without a conductor. Their repertoire encompasses music from the end of the 19th century to the present day, and also features much of the established repertoire of the late twentieth century, from Webern to Lachenmann, Stravinsky to Feldman. They have developed particularly strong collaborative relationships with composers as Frédéric Pattar, Stefano Gervasoni, Gérard Pesson, Johannes Schöllhorn and Clemens Gadenstätter among others.

Concert on Saturday 8 September 2012 at 6.30pm for 7pm – 21 Rockridge Road, Parktown - The concert will be followed by a cocktail

Concert on Wednesday 12 September 2012 at 8pm - Alliance française of Cape Town, 155 Loop Street
