An opportunity to promote new musical talents from the African continent

2014 RFI Discoveries Award

Smarty, 2013 RFI Discoveries Award Winner, just performed in Johannesburg at Bassline Africa Day concert, Africa Week in Yeoville and at the Kitchener’s in Braamfontein, as part of an African tour. Author of his first personal entitled album AFRIKAN KOULEURS, Smarty asserts himself as one of the figures of African rap.

Over the years, the RFI Prix Découvertes New Artist Award has been awarded to diverse and popular artists including:

* Tiken Jah Fakoly (Ivory Coast),
* Awadi (Senegal),
* Amadou and Mariam (Mali),
* Maurice Kirya (Uganda),
* Elemotho (Namibia),
* and last year to Smarty (Burkina Faso). 

The RFI Prix Découvertes New Artist Award enjoys a worldwide reputation. 

Every year, the juy of professionals is presided by a well-known personality. From Jacob Desvarieux to Youssou N’Dour, Angélique Kidjo, Richard Bona or Passi, the presidents of the Prix Découvertes RFI bring their experience and prestige to the Award. 

The winner receives:
* 10,000 euros,
* a tour in Africa
* and a concert in Paris.
