About Smarty
In 1999, he participates in the compilation Faso Connexion with the title as lively as colliding Papou Chéri. In 2000, he creates with the Chadian artist Mawndoé the group Yeleen.

In ten years, the group stood out as one of the most influential groups of rap in Africa. Smarty refines his style and reveals the plenitude of his potential. Both companions release five albums, receive numerous awards, including the best artist in Burkina Faso in 2007. They perform in Africa, in Europe and in the United States of America.

Thanks to this strong experience, Smarty launches now into a solo career with the album AFRIKAN KOULEURS. Virtuoso in the manipulation of words and sentences, he confronts modern rhythms with the traditional instruments and brings a fresh look to everyday life. Recorded between Ouagadougou, Bamako and Marseille, Smarty invites on AFRIKAN KOULEURS the renowned artists such as Tiken Jah Fakoly or Soprano.

To have a modern and contemporary sound with traditional tones, Smarty surrounded himself with musicians of the Bolo Bein Roots: a real artistic challenge!
