French speaking community radio guest at Joburg Radio Days

With the support of the French Embassy / French Institute of South Africa, a French-speaking expert is part of the speakers' line-upat Joburg Radio Days conference (2-4 July, at Wits University) : Cheick Maïga, station manager of Radio Issaber in North Mali, will talk about the challenges of running a community radio in a conflict zone.

Cheick Maïga will talk on Thursday 3 July from 15h10 to 16h10 as part of a day dedicated to Public and Community Day.

Hosted by the Wits Radio Academy, Joburg Radio Days brings together practitioners from all sectors of radio: commercial, public and community radio, from South Africa and the rest of the continent. Aimed at everybody with an interest in radio, from station manager to junior producer, the event brings leading radio thinkers from around the world to Joburg, who take participants to the cutting edge of ideas, concepts and new trends.

Radio's new music listening frontiers, programmers' guide to the brave new world of DAB+, youth listening trends, covering the big story,speed dating the radio stars, 20 years of public broadcasting, radio comedy, the podcasters... these are some of the numerous topics that will be developed during the fifth edition of Joburg Radio Days.
