Call for Participation | Take part in the first SA 48h VR Film Jam in Jo’burg!

Want to learn how to write, shoot, edit, and distribute a Cinematic VR experience in less than 48 hours? Apply before 9th October and get the chance to be selected among 12 participants to experience a unique 48h VR creativity session!

In the frame of upcoming edition of DISCOP Johannesburg, Digital Lab Africa, the French Institute of South Africa and Wonda VR will organize the first South African VR Film Jam, which will be held in Johannesburg from 24 to 27 October 2017 at Tshimologong – Digital Innovation Precinct (Braamfontein).
Using a proven methodology coupled with Wonda VR Studio authoring software and an award-winning team of mentors, this VR FILM JAM aims at empowering a diverse community of creatives to explore the future of cinema in VR.

The final projects will be showcased on October, 27th at DISCOP the world's number one destination to acquire and co-produce content "Made in Africa" and sell international film, television and digital content.

15 September 2017: Call for participation
9 October 2017: Deadline of submission
16 October 2017: Selection of participants by the Jury
24 October 2017: 48h VR Film Jam Kick-off

 

VR Jam Timeline
Day 1 – Tuesday 24 October
Kick off meeting, team presentation, first writing and storyboarding

Day 2 – Wednesday 25 October
Storyboarding and shooting – first editing version

Day 3 – Thursday 26 October
Editing end of post-production

Day 4 – Friday 27 October
Showcase of VR productions and networking event at Discop Africa Johannesburg (Sandton Convention Centre).
