Le Movie Club: Sur les Chemins de la Rumba @ The Bioscope Cinema | 31 March | 7:30pm

After last month's screening of Timbuktu, Le Movie Club is back for the third time with the first documentary of its African Cinema theme. Sur Les Chemins de la Rumba is a Congolese film by David-Pierre Fila tracing Rumba’s musical history. It takes the audience on a journey along the African coast, from the Congo basin, Cuba, Ecuador, and to Ivory Coast in a trip drenched by the well-known musical notes, all the while melting this African musical art with the aspect and rhythms of the Congo basin, the sources that gave it its shape and soul. The film will be screening at
The Bioscope Independent Cinema in Johannesburg on Thursday the 31st of March at 7:30pm.
