The French Institute of South Africa joins the much loved children’s publisher, l’école des loisirs, in celebrating their 50th birthday.

Since its inception in 1965, l’école des loisirs has been promoting the idea of reading as a pleasure. The publisher has been taking younger and older readers into a literary journey with their unique mythical characters through their 3500 stories.

On the occasion of this milestone, l’école des loisirs has put together a series of exhibitions to be shown in France and around the world, with the support of Institut Français in Paris. The festivities opened at the Paris Salon du Livre in March 2015.

In South Africa, younger and older public will be invited to (re-)discover ‘Nos Héros Préférés’ (Our Favourite Heros) and ‘La fabrique d’un livre’ (The making of a book). The two exhibitions will be touring in South Africa – cities and dates to be announced.
