Michelle Constant & Mandie van der Spuy, admitted to the Order of Arts & Letters

Arts consultant Mandie van der Spuy and CEO of Business and Arts South Africa Michelle Constant were just awarded by France's Ministry of Culture with the respective distinctions of Officier and Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres for their outstanding contribution to the South African creative industries. The Embassy of France in South Africa hosted their ceremony yesterday where they were each honored by H.E. Ambassador Elisabeth Barbier with the medallion of the Order of Arts & Letters.

This order, established in 1957 by the French Minister of Culture, rewards artists, writers and creators who, through their ongoing engagement and inventiveness, have achieved distinction by their work in the arts or literature or by their contribution to the dissemination of art and literature in France and throughout the world.

Through their unwavering commitment Michelle and Mandie have demonstrated themselves to be fierce cultural ambassadors who champion the often underestimated value of arts in society and the economy. We are immensely proud and honored to salute their arduous work in the great service of art, of South Africa and of French culture.
